The Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA) runs a fund which supports the production of small videos on third world countries. They can be viewed online. Among them, I found one, Transit Tanger, about the Moroccan exodus to Europe. The full list of videos can be seen here.

Photos from Morocco

Hi everybody
Thank you for a great trip:-)
A few of us discussed how we best can share photos from the trip. The suggestion is that we all make a cd/dvd with our own photos and name on it, before next monday and put it on the shelf with all our books. Then we can all access the files and copy them to our own computers.
Louise will bring @ with her tomorrow so bring a harddisk to copy the files.
Se you all tomorrow.

Morrocan Tourist Magazines

I have put two Moroccan tourist magazines on the bookshelf. They give a good impression of how Morocco is branding itself as a tourist destination. They also feature some of the golf estate projects that we have been talking about, as well as a project for "The 21st Century Medina" on the site of a former military barracks North of the railway station.

Resume of meeting 14-9

Friday we had a group-meeting, and here is a short summary of the conclusions of the meeting:

For the workshop monday and tuesday remember drawing equipment.

We should know start thinking about the physical project and leave teh paper in teh back of our minds for a while.

We should create a unified Graphical layout for the exibition posters, which Carina and Anso will be in charge of. There should also be an introductional poster, which explains the project and might contain a "map" of our individual projects.

The individual posters should be prioritized so that the design proposal takes up ½= the size of 4 A4 papers, The paper abstract + references should take up the size of 1 A4 and the rest of the poster, which is the size of 3 A4 papers should contain analysis.

See you all tomorrow.

Marrakech on Youtube

There are of course lots of videos on Marrakech on Youtube. Both the typical selfmade tourist videos, all sorts of tourist promotion videos, as well as videos made by people from Marrakech, such as these amazing ones about parkour which also give an impression of the physical environment beyond the typical tourist places and the medina.

Party and group meetings...

Today we decided to have a small party next thursday the 20th of Sep. at 18.00. Tomorrow a list will be put up at Toldboden for people to sign if they want go to the party. At monday Ditte (or someone she asks to do it) will take the list down and make reservations.

Regarding teh reasearch we concluded that there is no more work to do untill we know more about which subjects and areas we will focus on in the projects.

Later on in the project we will have to try to find a way to work with individual projects but still get the feedback and inputs from others, like we are used to with group based projects. Hopefully the next couple of days will give us some tools to do that. But we also decided to have a set day for a group meeting/pin up each week. It will be on thursdays at 9.00 starting thursday the 20th (next week). Here we will be able to present our work for a large group and we can organize smaller groups for more detailed discussions. We will discuss this with Nicolai when possible, to hear his point of view to this suggestion.

Regarding e-mail from Lasse

He everybody
In case anybody is in doubt, we wont meet untill 13.00 today 12/9-2007. So spend the morning the best way you can.
See you all later today
